I’d like to formally introduce myself here on the XINNIX blog as you will be hearing more from me in the coming months. My name is Katie Claxton, and I’m the new Marketing Communications Specialist. I’ve been with the company for about seven weeks now, and I love being a part of this incredible team! In my short time here, I can already see that the success of this company comes from the fact that our executive leaders ensure that our vision and plan is crystal clear to each and every associate. In order to reinforce this transparency, the XINNIX team has adopted the concept of the “One Thing.”
In this day and age, we want more from life. We want fulfilling careers and personal lives, bigger homes, and faster cars. At the same time, we want less. We want fewer items on our to-do lists, less stress, and fewer emails. Founder of Keller Williams and best-selling author, Gary Keller, wrote a book entitled “The One Thing” which discusses the concept of simplifying your personal and professional life and “going small” to achieve huge success. Keller breaks this concept down by saying, “Where I’d had huge success, I had narrowed my concentration to one thing, and where my success varied, my focus had too. And the light came on… extraordinary results are directly determined by how narrow you can make your focus.”
With our motto being “Through excellence there are infinite possibilities,” extraordinary results are the standard at XINNIX. Each of our associates has his or her own One Thing that keeps them focused and on track with the work they need to do to contribute to meeting the highest goals and objectives for the company. Imagine that someone walks into your office tomorrow morning and tells you that instead of working your normal 40+ hour week, you’ve only 10 hours. What do you choose to work on in that limited amount of time? What becomes top priority? What is the One Thing that will have the greatest impact on the business? That, my friends, is your One Thing.
Our One Things are printed and displayed on our copy room wall. This keeps them top-of-mind and allows us all to keep one another accountable as their importance is understood. While our One Things change throughout the year, we can look back at the end of each year and identify the One Things that helped our company reach the greatest success.
We recently had the opportunity to gather three of our current and past XINNIX students who have managed to grow their business in a down market. Everyone has the same number of hours in a day and the same number of days in a week. How were these three producers able to thrive in a climate that has left so many struggling to keep up? The answer is found in their One Things.
Over the next few weeks, we will explore what these three XINNIX alumni consider to be the guiding principle or concept that has transcended their business and to which they can directly attribute their success. We’ll also talk to XINNIX CEO and Founder Casey Cunningham about how she has leveraged the concept of the One Thing to transform her company. I invite you to take this journey with me as we take a deeper look into how the One Thing can be your biggest key to success. So, tell me, what’s YOUR One Thing?
